Mindfulness Teaching and Mentoring

Mindfulness is transformative, and I am here to help you create a space for it in your life. Mindfulness not only gives clarity, but research has shown that it contributes to decreased stress, improved concentration, better sleep, reduced reactivity, increased empathy, compassion, and improved immune response. Mindfulness even changes the structure of the brain by shrinking the amygdala (fight or flight) while thickening the prefrontal cortex (rational decision making). The practice of mindfulness can bring more peace to your life and is a radical act contributing to a more peaceful world.

I am a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, a member of the International Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Association, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Therapist. I teach both in person and virtually

Life Coaching

I am well equipped as a Life Coach, having worked with people for decades, assisting them as they navigate life’s challenges. I help people clarify their identities and improve self-confidence, as well as guide them through life transitions. I support people as they discover their “Why” and help them accomplish goals and flourish.
In addition to my professional work, I have my own life experience as a cancer survivor, caregiver, entrepreneur, creative, life-long-learner, and a parent coping with many challenges children bring about, including drug addiction.

I offer Life Coaching in person and virtually.

Barbara sitting on the ground in the Utah mountains

“A few years ago, I reached a point where for the first time in my life, I felt helpless in controlling my thoughts and emotions.  Anxiety had made it so I was no longer the wife and mother I wanted to be for my family. I was so fortunate to find and develop a relationship with Barbara Scoville.

In the last few years, I have learned skills and strategies to improve my thought processes and patterns. Mindfulness, meditation, and cognitive-based-therapy have been game changers as I have since dealt with other life experiences and trauma.

Barbara is a calming sounding board, a skilled teacher, and someone who is always looking to improve her practice. She creates a safe space and environment to promote healing. I love her perspectives and insights. I am so grateful for how much she has helped me.”
